Terms of a shoot

These terms cover a stills day, a film day, or a finishing job booked with Businesi Contres S.R.L. at Strada Armenească 15, MD-2012 Chișinău, or on location that we agree in the estimate. The contract is the estimate you accept, these terms, and the invoice. The law of the contract is the law of the Republic of Moldova, including the Civil Code, Law No. 1107/2002.

The parties

The studio is Businesi Contres S.R.L., IDNO 1023600045187, Strada Armenească 15, MD-2012 Chișinău, sectorul Centru, phone +373 69 418 273, [email protected]. You are the person or company named on the estimate. If you book for someone else, you confirm that you can bind them, and the invoice is still addressed as the estimate says.

An estimate is valid for 21 days unless it says otherwise. Paying the deposit, or writing that you accept the estimate, makes the booking. Notices go to the email on the estimate and to [email protected], and by post to the Armenească address. The website is in English. The invoice is issued in Romanian, which is the state language, with the same figures as the estimate.

Estimates and the recce

Tell us the place, the dates, whether you need stills, film, or both, where the pictures will be used, and whether people will be in frame. We reply with the day rate, the hours, what is included, and the delivery date. A recce inside Chișinău is included once the shoot is confirmed. We walk the room, or we stand on the street at the hour you want to shoot, and we say if the hour will not hold the picture.

Outside Chișinău the day is priced before the date is held. A vineyard, Cricova, or Orhei is not the city day rate. We do not fly equipment. We do not supply a drone.

Rates

Figures are in Moldovan lei and do not include VAT. VAT is added on the invoice at the rate in force in the Republic of Moldova when the studio is required to charge it. A day is up to eight hours on site, including the setup that belongs to that day. The clock starts at the call time on the estimate.

Props beyond the paper sweep, hired talent, permits, and travel outside the city are not inside these figures. If the estimate adds them, the estimate wins.

What a day includes

A hall day includes the room, the lights that live at Armenească, one photographer, and the basic stands, flags, and sweep. A film day includes one camera and the shots listed before the call. Sound for a voice or for room tone is included only when the brief asks for it, and only in a room quiet enough to hold it. That room is the blackout room. The courtyard after 16:30, and Ștefan cel Mare at the end of the day, are not quiet rooms, and the estimate will say so.

On a film day a third person may come for focus and the second body. That person is included in the film day rate above. Stills and film booked together are one day because the set stays. The invoice shows the split so you can see it.

If the people, the set, or the access are more than an hour late, the day still ends at the booked hour. We do not run into the next booking on the diary. Overtime is the hourly figure above, and only if we agree it on the day.

Delivery

Working days are Monday to Friday. They do not include the shoot day itself, and they skip a public holiday in the Republic of Moldova.

• Stills selects: four working days after the shoot.
• The full stills set: nine working days.
• An assembly of a film: twelve working days.
• A graded master: sixteen working days.

Delivery is a private link. A drive can be collected from the desk at Strada Armenească 15 if the estimate says so. We do not post the work to a public feed unless you ask for that use in writing, and the licence names it. A rush inside 48 hours is the extra figure above, and only if we accept it before the shoot. We will refuse a rush when the diary cannot hold it.

Colour and revisions

Colour follows the room we shot. One grade pass is included for a film, and the stills are delivered in the grade agreed at the selects. A further pass is 740 MDL. We will tell you on the first look at a finishing-only job if the exposure cannot be carried. The grade is not a second shoot, and we will not rebuild missing coverage in the colour.

Copyright and licence

Copyright in the photographs and the film stays with Businesi Contres S.R.L. under Law No. 139 of 2 July 2010 on copyright and related rights. You receive a licence, not the copyright, unless the invoice sells the copyright outright. We rarely do that, and the invoice has to say it in words.

If the invoice does not narrow the licence, the licence is this: you may use the delivered files for your own promotion, in the Republic of Moldova, for two years from delivery, on your website and in your own print. You may not place the files in a stock library, resell them, or hand them to a related brand that was not named in the brief. A wider territory, a longer term, or a campaign for a third party is a different fee, written before the shoot.

Raw files, card dumps, and ungraded assemblies are not part of the delivery. The studio may keep the files, and may show a frame as a record of the job, once you have published it or once you have agreed in writing that we may. We crop readable shop signs out of street frames when the sign is not the subject you booked.

People in frame

If a person is recognizable, they sign a release before we deliver that frame. We need the name as they will sign it. A minor’s release is signed by a parent or guardian. If a release is refused, we withhold the frame and the fee for the day is not reduced, because the day was shot. Tell us at the brief if staff, guests, or passers-by will be identifiable.

Cancellation and weather

The deposit is 40 percent of the estimate, paid to hold the date. The rest is due before delivery.

• Cancel five or more days before the call: the deposit is returned.
• Cancel inside five days: the deposit is kept.
• Cancel inside 48 hours, or do not attend: half the agreed day rate is billed, and the deposit is credited against that sum.

An outdoor day in Chișinău can be moved once, without a fee, when rain or high wind makes the brief impossible. The new date is the next day we both have open. A second move is a hold of 2 340 MDL. A power cut at the hall, a road the city closes, or illness on our side moves the day. You are not billed twice for the moved day. If you are the cause of a lost day, the cancellation lines above apply.

Permits and the street

We do not close a public street, and we do not supply crowd control. If the job needs a permit from Primăria municipiului Chișinău, you apply. The date stays provisional until you tell us the permit is granted. Shooting from a public pavement is done without blocking it. The van, if you need one, uses the courtyard at Armenească. One van at a time. Cases cross the court. They do not go up the street stair.

The finishing room is three steps above the hall. The hall and the blackout room are level with the gate. If stairs are a problem, say so in the brief and the work stays on the courtyard level.

Payment

Pay the deposit to the account on the invoice. We do not take card numbers on this website. The balance is due before the link or the drive is released. If the balance is late, delivery waits. A fee that is still unpaid 14 days after the invoice date can be recovered under the Civil Code, with the interest the law allows. The studio may suspend a later day on the diary until the earlier invoice is paid.

Liability

We take care of the rooms, the kit, and the files. If we lose a card or damage a set piece you brought, we tell you the same day. Our liability for a job is limited to the fee you paid for that job, except where the law of the Republic of Moldova does not allow a limit, including liability for death, injury, or intent. We are not liable for a use of the files that goes outside the licence, or for a permit you were going to obtain and did not.

You are responsible for the claims, releases, and rights in any artwork, product, or location you ask us to show, other than the studio’s own rooms. You insure a set piece of high value if you bring one. The studio’s cases are insured for the work we do. Your product, once it is in the hall, should be insured by you if its loss would matter more than the day rate.

A consumer booking

If you are a natural person booking for personal use, Law No. 105/2003 on consumer protection also applies, and nothing on this page removes a right that statute gives you. You may bring a claim in the way that law allows, including before the competent authority for consumer protection and before the courts. A business booking is governed by the Civil Code and by what the estimate says.

Disputes

We will try to settle a dispute by writing to each other first. If that fails, the courts of mun. Chișinău have jurisdiction, without taking away a right a consumer has to sue elsewhere under Law No. 105/2003. The language of the proceedings follows the rules of those courts. A Romanian invoice and an English estimate describe the same job when the figures match.

These terms are dated 2 November 2026. A later booking uses the terms posted on this page on the day you accept the estimate, unless the estimate attaches a different set.
